Classic car insurance may restrict driving to 1,000 miles per year. Other policies allow as much as 5,000 miles. Some policies restrict driving destinations to only car shows, sales, parades, and similar special events.

Restrictions may be placed on who drives the car with some classic car insurance policies. Some of them require that only the policyholder drive the car or that only mature drivers be allowed to drive. Others require anyone driving to have a good driving record.

How and where you store the vehicle when it isn’t in use is an issue that may be specified in the classic car insurance policy, too. Some locations and types of storage are safer than others and certain situations may be required.

There are several ways to determine the vehicle’s value when purchasing classic car insurance. Look for an “assigned value” clause for maximum protection.
